Month: September 2006

  • Took Bannanarama out to lunch, and to look at Halloween decorations two days ago.

First time we had gone on an outing since the public schools started up once again. It was....slightly disturbing, that the only other children about were very young ones. Felt entirely like some apocolyptic B-movie scenario to me - "WHERE HAVE ALL THE CHILDREN GONE?" And then when they started drifting into the store after the school's release time, they were just so, so, wound-up and hyper. (And my patience for high-spirits in children is really rather ridiculously large - I willingly spend time with kids wearing shoes actually designed to make them noisier, after all!)

It just doesn't seem at all healthy to me, to lock our children away from actual, real life for large portions of their day. Not for them, and not for adults either. (Children and teenagers are just fellow human beings - not aliens from whom we must run to avoid contamination at all costs!)

  • Goodbye Steve, we'll miss you...

    Steve Irwin Remembered

I've always enjoyed watching the Crocodile Hunter - Steve Irwin was just always so passionate, full of zest for life, and absolutely loved what he did. A good example for those of us who wish to really live our lives, fully and completely. My thoughts are with his family right now, I hope they can take comfort in the fact that he died doing what he loved, and had a *really* good life.

  • Time's short...what's new?

Why I haven't been posting much:

This is what we will be working on all weekend, so that it looks like an actual dance studio by Tuesday, when we have our first day of registration and a Mom/Pop/Tot trial class. I'm getting excited - I am sooooo ready to boogie!:)
